On Monday, November 3rd, I went in for a "problem visit" to my OB. I called last week regarding some concerns that I was having and some symptoms that were occurring. Nathan has been very concerned and protective of me and the baby. After the nurse obtained all of my medical and past pregnancy information, the doctor has deemed me "high risk". Go figure!!
Nathan and I went in to visit Dr. Mitchell to discuss medications, my thyroid, why I am having night sweats and just general overall pregnancy stuff. He decided that he would like to do an ultrasound. YEAH! It was so exciting to be eight weeks along and to see the heartbeat of your baby. I already love him/her so much. (wow, I am starting to tear up. I must be pregnant!) Nathan was beaming like a very proud father. Dr. Mitchell had some bloodwork done and told me to go and visit my primary care doctor for my thyroid maintenance. I go back in to visit Dr. Mitchell on November 17th for a full OB visit.

Halloween Trunk or Treat
Talk about a fun night. Let's see, it began with the rain pouring down and the sun setting early. Since being in the primary presidency, I have been much busier than normal, so we needed to make a stop at Walmart to pick up 16 dozen donuts for the trunk or treat. Of course, Ian was already decked out in his costume. (He had decided after Halloween last year that he wanted to be a mummy.) Everyone commented on his costume and his face was just beaming. Well we arrive at the trunk or treat and there was a costume contest in the cultural hall. Three categories were available; prettiest costume, scariest costume, funniest costume. Ian entered into the scariest costume category and HE WON!! He was soooo excited and his face was beaming all night long. His aunt Cheryl took Ian and Tyler trunk or treating while I passed out candy. We had a great time. Nathan was working so he missed all the excitement of the contest. Maybe next year....
Well, Ian has been true to form and already decided what he would like to be next year. A Star Wars destroyer droid. Not sure how to make that costume. At least I have 12 months to work on changing his mind!

Parent Teacher Conference
We had the first kindergarten parent/teacher conference yesterday. Ian's teacher, Ms. Noble, is very young. She just graduated from PLU last spring. I think at times she is overwhelmed. Anyway, Ian has been tested on math and reading skills. He does ok on the numbers, but the reading skills are somewhat lacking. He scored very high on the comprehension, but the letter recognition was a low score. He qualifies for a state Title I class. I knew that he was not comfortable with his alphabet, so I am glad he will get the help. He does not like to work with us at home.
Ms. Noble also encouraged us to enter Ian into drawing contests. She gave us some information. She explained that Ian is an excellent artist and has quite the talent for going far.
Ian also doesn't finish all of his work. He knows how to do it, but gets side tracked when he checks other people's papers and tells them that they are doing it wrong. He gets caught up with being the paper police, that he forgets to finish his own work.
Overall, Ian is doing well so far in kindergarten. Only 12 more grades to go......

THE BIG NEWS
It has finally happened...... I am PREGNANT.
We have been trying for awhile. Two years ago, I had a miscarriage and some issues. When they did the D&C, the doctor found that I had a uterine polyp the size of a "little smokie". This polyp would not allow the pregnancy to continue by preventing the baby to completely attach to my uterine wall. After surgery and months of spotting (UGH). The doctor game me the go ahead to try again. We waited a little while for various reasons, but felt that it was a good time to try again and.... It Worked.
Ian is really excited about the whole thing, but I don't think that it has completely sunk in yet since I am not showing. He keeps asking me if I was sure that there was a baby in my tummy.
Both families are also super excited. It has been a couple of years on both sides since a new baby has come into the family. Mom is already planning her trip up to Washington. This is a good thing since I haven't had a baby without her. She was an integral part in birthing Ian. Nancy has given strict instructions to Nathan and Ian that I am to rest at all possible times so that I don't lose this baby as well.
I am glad that I have so much support. I am going to need it since it has been almost 7 years since my last baby!

Wow, I am a slacker!!
Well it has been quite awhile since I last posted. Let's see where to begin.....
Millersylvania
All of my peers at work arranged a camping weekend prior to the cold and rainy season (wait, that's year round in Washington) Anyway, we went on Ian's birthday. It was a lot of fun. We rented a boat to go canoeing on the lake. We played lots of games. There were other kids there for Ian to play with.
I made a birthday cake for Ian and Sydney (one of my coworkers daughter) We really had a great time.
Family
The family is doing well.
Nathan went to Leavenworth, Washington for some management training. He was there for three days with all of the "tree huggers" He was very disappointed with the food selection. It was way too "natural". I think the training was good over all. He continues to be successful at Alaska Airlines. He is not liking the swing shift though. I am not very fond of it either. This schedule rarely allows us to see each other.
Ian is still in kindergarten (geez, I have only taken about 2 weeks off of blogging!!). He is doing very well and still has only had "thinking time" once. I have unofficially become the class mom. I go in quite often to volunteer. I enjoy being able to do what I can to better Ian's education. Ian loves kindergarten and has informed me that he has not found a girlfriend yet. He homework is to read a book every day (more like I read Ian a book every day). We have done quite well with the assignments. Ian has already brought home his fund raiser CRAP.. Ugh, this is the part I am not real excited about. I took Ian to the doctor today for his 6 year well check. He is healthy and BIG. He is in the 95th percentile in height and over the charts in weight. I asked the docter what I should do about his weight and he suggested that I start getting him involved in the Puyallup Roughriders (Peewee football). Good Idea!
I am beginning to see what Ginger experiences. Let me explain. Yesterday I went to work for 8 hours beginning at 6 am. Then I went to the school to call the kindergarten volunteers and get all information. Next I picked up Ian and we went grocery shopping. We went home and while he was playing outside for a bit I began laundry, baked a cake and created a volunteer list and calendar for October. Next I fixed dinner for Ian and myself. I gave Ian a bath and read him a story before bed (remember the homework assignment). I filled out Ians Scholastic book sale thingy. Put together all of the information for the volunteer list for Ms. Noble and Mrs. McCracken. Then I decorated the cake I baked for a coworker's birthday today. I began my day at 4:30 am when my alarm went off and finished decorating the cake at 11:45 pm. Whew, I am so glad I had time for myself..... NOT!!!
I actually really enjoy working at the school with Ian. I understand what teachers go through. I want to ensure that they have the time to focus on what the kids need (including mine). If that means I need to help out, I am there. I think my biggest issue right now is work. I have a boss that really is a jerk. He feels that women are beneath men and should be at home barefoot and pregnant. He is giving me greif about things with Ian. He is really making my job not very enjoyable. I have a hard time going to work.
Well, that is about all that is going on in the Krambule household. Not too exciting.... TTFN
